"In my contribution, I used a sample from a movie which corresponds to the themes I'm interested in — particularly school shootings and also the journey of an artist.

There is a phrase which I can definitely relate to: "All that matters is that you have an angle". I often think that it doesn't matter what you do or how you do it. It's more important that you have your own direction, own perspective, and a very strong feeling and faith, that your contribution to this world matters.

All my work is basically about that because I often feel like the method of sampling I use could make others question the legitimacy of my work. But then I remind myself that I know I have my angle and got something to say. And it helps." –– Ana Jikia
