"This track was written while I was observing the protests in Russia, which made me feel very emotional. Trying to find some ground I was re-watching a movie by Mikhail Kalik “To Love”.

It's a Soviet drama featuring documentary footage that dwells upon eternal values such as love — deep and sentimental at the same time. To balance my fading moods I made a sound bath where a listener could soak in soothing sounds and breathe out. I wanted the track to have some healing qualities rooted in the ability of our memory to remember good things, and the ability to love and support each other despite distance and time. The track samples the beginning of the film where they ask people in the streets of Soviet Russia: “What is love?”.

The answers are full of light and hope. I'm really into the timbre of the Soviet voices, somehow they have this very touching kind of energy in the way they talk in films. It also samples my favorite Soviet jazz — very warm and kind music evoking waves of nostalgia for the past I didn’t live in." –– Perila
